Powervamp has constantly pioneered new designs and concepts within the aviation, automotive and emergency lighting central battery systems, however, it was the joining of Effekta that allowed Powervamp to continue to grow as an internationally recognised designer and manufacturer. Its range of aviation products that are sold worldwide, are a testimony to the knowledge and skill base of the workforce. This partnership has enabled us to become experts in their products, such as explaining how does a static frequency converter work.
Against this background and after almost 23 years of heading Powervamp, Richard Roller, (Joint Managing Director and company founder), has decided to step aside to allow fellow Joint Managing Director, Ken Walker, to assume full control of the day-to-day running of the company as MD. Richard will adopt the role of Chairman and will continue to contribute to the success of the company.
“The future will see the company firmly establish itself within the airport ground power sector as we build upon the recent success at a number of UK airports”
Ken joined the company four years ago as Commercial Director and subsequently as Joint Managing Director, and by overseeing the acquisition of Effekta UK and making most of the day-to-day decisions, has proven his business acumen and management skills which have earned the confidence of the Board of Directors and shareholders.

Ken commented, “Without doubt, I look forward to an exciting future helped by my team of talented employees whom I thank for their dedication and skills. Powervamp has achieved much in the last 22 years but particularly in the past four years with the growth at our Barton-le-Clay factory, (between Luton and Bedford), as evidence of our progress. The future will see the company firmly establish itself within the airport ground power sector as we build upon the recent success at a number of UK airports.”
