Winning the Bid against tough competition and delivering a service praised by exhibitors and the organisers re-confirmed Powervamp’s place as a leader in the specialist Air show support service business.
As one of only two recognised organisations capable of supporting major international air shows, such as Farnborough, Paris, Singapore and others, with electrical ground power and air cooling , it was Powervamp’s expertise and competitiveness that secured the contract.
With the temperature 6 degrees hotter than two years ago, and with humidity at 85%, Powervamp’s engineering team and its equipment proved their stamina and durability during the six day show .
Powervamp’s air show team consistently delivered well beyond their remit. In one typical instance, working late into the night after a gruelling 12 hour day in the static area the Powervamp crew repositioned all Cabling,AC and DC power and aircon units so that a major Airframe Manufacturer could relocate all their aircraft to another part of the static area and be ready for show opening next morning.
Gary Owen, Powervamp’s on-site Project Director, commented;
“The fact that this work was done without charge under our unique charter of “support the customer –totally” ,surprised many”. We are unusual in that our air show business is just one of our interrelated divisions and this gives us a huge advantage in man power, materials and competitiveness.”
No wonder Powervamp and the team received high praise from the organisers and various exhibitors and set the standard of support ever higher.
For the show, Powervamp positioned three container loads of equipment to Singapore, laid several tonnes of cable and electrical gear and connected power to more than 27 aircraft.
The company will be at the2010 Farnborough Air show later this year and supporting other UK and international air shows throughout 2010.
